Naval Air Station Fallon is the United State’s Navy’s air-to-air and air-to-ground training facility. It is home to the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center as well as the TOPGUN program and the Navy SEAL Combat Search and Rescue program. Naval Air Station Fallon is located near the city of Fallon in Nevada. Naval Air Station Fallon contains over 80,000 acres that are used as bombing and electronic warfare ranges. Housing at NAS Fallon is offered in over 200 family housing units, and applicants are asked to fill out an on-base housing form to be placed on a waiting list. Wait times may be as much as six months depending on the time of year. For military personnel looking for off-post housing, the housing office can provide a list of properties in the surrounding communities including homes for sale or rent. The school district near NAS Fallon is the Churchill County school district which includes five preschool and elementary schools, and two schools of higher education. There are currently no Department of Defense schools located at NAS Fallon. Which school district students will attend will depend on where they reside. High school students who live on the naval station will attend school at the Churchill County High School and will be bused into Fallon to attend school. There are five public elementary schools available and many private schools. The Navy College at NAS Fallon also provides college refresher courses as well as classes leading to doctoral degrees. The Child Development Center is located in Building 1001 and offer before and after school programs as well as full and part-day daycare.
